This will be Diaz’s first fight since he parted ways with the UFC after he completed his contract in September 2022 with a submission of former interim champion Tony Ferguson. The fight with Paul will be Diaz’s first professional boxing match.
Paul has the biggest fight of his boxing career despite coming off a loss to Tommy Fury in his most recent outing. He has been predicting he would eventually fight Diaz for the better part of three years, and now it will happen Saturday.
