Why did the commentators mention that Sterling was still moving after the stoppage?

I mean for me (someone who is into MMA just casually for a few years now) it was a clear stoppage. Giving someone the back or turtle position while eating those nasty hammer fists like breakfast indicated to me that Sterling was done. Rogan and Cormier, but mostly Rogan, repeatedly mention that Sterling was still moving. I mean yes, but he was probably counting sheeps at this point.

So what am I missing here?
