The friendship of Merab and Aljo is one-sided and Aljo wouldn’t do the same for Merab if the roles were reversed

Aljo told everyone that win or lose, he would move up to 145

But he’s now staying in 135 and knowingly derailing his friend’s career, knowing Merab will continue his career hiatus for however long possible until Aljo isn’t in the division, and Aljo is still, at his own volition, for the lack of a better term is cucking Merab from career progress.

The UFC and Dana White are ruthless. There is no immediate rematch with Aljo. He will need at least two wins before fighting for the title again. That’s three fights to be champ, and if the UFC knows that he’s just going to leave the division once he becomes champ? The UFC doesn’t like that type of behavior unless you’re Jones, Conor, or GSP. They won’t give Aljo the title shot in the foreseeable future within the next year minimum, and especially not if he’s just going to leave after. I see this whole ordeal ending in a way that Merab doesn’t expect, and it will be very sad for him. He will be sitting out two years with nobody to fight except for low ranked or unrankeds, and why would the UFC give him legit prospects that he could ruin? They will just give him some unranked fighter with no real chance at becoming a contender. Essentially squash matches wasting everyone’s time if he even decides to fight.

It’s obviously a difference in western and eastern values, and Aljo clearly would never do the same for him if the roles were reversed. This guy has to understand he has his own livelihood and career, and to not let someone derail his career while that someone KNOWS he is doing exactly that. Endrant
