I dont remember exactly when it happened, maybe towards the end of the Reebok era, but when UFC dropped “Knockout of the Night” and “submission of the night” to just “Performance”, unless I’m terribly misremembering, wasn’t there decision winners who were rewarded for outstanding performances? You only see Performance of the Night given out to KOs and subs anyway, might as well go back to that model. I can’t recall the reasons behind that shift, perhaps to avoid cards that don’t have subs or kos but that’s hardly a thing these days as well. Just curious if someone remembers why exactly that change happened and if there were in fact fighters who won POTN for decisions.
