LAS VEGAS – Alexa Grasso is confident she is the rightful champion of the UFC women’s flyweight division.

Grasso retained her title in the main event of Saturday’s Noche UFC, however, she didn’t beat Valentina Shevchenko. The two fought to a split draw in their immediate title rematch, causing Grasso to retain her belt. Both Grasso (17-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) and Shevchenko (23-5 MMA, 12-4 UFC) won a 48-47 card from a judge, while the third read 47-47 causing the split draw.

Yet, despite not getting an official win, the Guadalajara native is happy with her showing.

“I’m happy with my performance,” Grasso said. “For me, it was 3-2. The fourth and fifth were for me, but I’m not the judge, so yeah. I’m not the judge.”

Grasso took the belt from Shevchenko in shocking fashion this past March at UFC 285. Many online suggested a trilogy, given the competitive fashion of the rematch and the various scores from fans.

However, Grasso doesn’t see it as necessary and will go with whatever the UFC decides.

“It’s an interesting question,” Grasso said regarding the trilogy. “I wouldn’t like to stop the division. There are a lot of girls fighting a lot to have this opportunity like I did, so I wouldn’t like to stop it. But whatever the UFC says, I’m in.”
