After suffering the first knockdown of Inoue’s career, “The Monster” roars back to deliver three knockdowns of Nery, including the final one in the sixth round. Inoue says the early knockdown gave him “motivation” after the fight. Inoue threw 127 punches during the fight and landed 62 for a 49 percent striking rate. 28 of the shots landed were to Nery’s body. He plans to return to fight IBF mandatory challenger Sam Goodman in September.
