Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford is officially set for Sept. 13 in Las Vegas, and the blockbuster fight streams on Netflix.
Dana White and Turki Alalshikh announced the additional details for the September boxing showdown, although a venue was not revealed for the event. White, Alashikh, and Sela will co-promote the event, per the announcement, and will also feature a multi-stop promotional tour.
“Turki wants to make the biggest fights the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley,” White said in a statement. “Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight.”
White also seems to be teasing that his boxing promotion will be under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
The three-stop promotional tour begins in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 20. The second stop takes place during Fanatics Fest in New York City on June 22, before the final stop in Las Vegas on June 27 during the UFC’s International Fight Week ahead of UFC 317.
Alvarez has won six straight bouts as he prepares for the undisputed super middleweight championship fight against the undefeated Crawford.
“I’m super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix,” Alvarez said.
For Crawford, he aims to prove that he’s not one of the best fighters in the world, but he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport.
“My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top,” Crawford said. “On Sept. 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.”
